Composite Description

The Canadian Core Plus Bond Composite seeks to provide a steady flow of income by investing primarily in Canadian government and corporate fixed income instruments and asset-backed securities with maturities of more than one year. Preservation of capital is an important factor in the selection of portfolio investments. Portfolios in the composite may invest up to 25% of assets in bonds that are rated below “BBB- “and may also invest up to 30% in foreign investments. The composite was created on June 30, 2013.

Benchmark Description

The FTSE Canada Universe Bond Index is a broad measure of Canadian bonds with terms to maturity of more than one year. It includes federal, provincial, municipal and corporate bonds rated “BBB” or higher.
